Frequently asked questions
- How do I program a beat?
- Click cells in the grid to toggle hits — rows are drum voices (kick, snare, hat, etc.), columns are 16th-note steps. Press play and the pattern loops continuously. Adjust tempo with the BPM control.
- Can I save my pattern?
- Patterns persist locally while the page is open. To capture and re-use a beat across sessions, export the audio (right-click record) or rebuild the pattern in Backing Tracks where you can save and export full multi-bar arrangements.
- Does the drum machine support swing?
- The current sequencer is straight 16ths. For swing/shuffle feels open Backing Tracks — its drum builder lets you set swing percentage and humanise timing.
- Can I change kit sounds?
- Default sounds are an electronic kit. To layer different kits, mute the sequencer when not needed and play the acoustic Drums tool side-by-side, or use Backing Tracks for a multi-kit arrangement.
